Situated in the heart of the Ocala National Forest, the Help Agency with it's SoZo Kids program operates a summer camp for children who live in the Forest and who live in rural poverty, called Camp SoZo. On this 72 acre camp, Camp SoZo provides a safe and fun environment for children to escape the everyday life of poverty stress. A place where they can just be a kid. With a spring fed private lake (Deer Lake) there is plenty of room for swimming, canoeing, fishing, and other water activities. At Camp SoZo each child has the enjoyment to participate in volleyball, camp teams with lots of competitive games, late night movies, late night pizza parties, late night ice cream parties, late night campfires with s'mores and all the fun they can handle. Along with all this fun every child is fed 3 times a day plus snacks; an effort to make poverty the furthest thing from their mind.

You will be contacted either by email or phone to make sure you have what you need for your child to have the most amazing time possible at Camp SoZo! |

camp counselors needed
Every year hundreds of kids come through Camp SoZo and every year Camp Counselors are needed for those kids. For a small price (to cover the cost of food and other expenses) you and your group can be involved in changing a child's life in Rural Poverty in the Ocala National Forest by becoming a Camp Counselor. To find out more about camp dates and pricing, you may go to the Contact page and fill out the Contact Form, call the Administration Office, or if you prefer send a letter of who you are and your interest to the Camp SoZo Mailing Address listed on the Contact page.

More Than Just Summer Camp
Surrounded on all sides of Camp SoZo by protected wildlife and tall timbers, the camp is also the home base office(s) of the Help Agency and it's programs. As operational costs are kept to a minimum, the camp also serves as housing for some of the staff, interns, food pantries, equipment operations, and a venue for both local and out of state events and lodging. If you are looking for a place to just get away from it all then this is your place to be. Camp SoZo offers swimming, canoeing, recreation, hiking, nature trails, tranquility and much more. With the best competitive prices, Camp SoZo is open all year round to the public for private use and has served as a venue for many organizations, occasions and events. You name it, they can do it.
WEDDINGS: Want to get married on a beautiful spring fed lake? Need a large reception area? Need a large kitchen to prepare food for your guests? Need a Caterer or a Chef to ease your mind of all the work? Camp SoZo has got you covered.
EVENTS: Men's Retreats, Women's Retreats, Family Reunions, Church Events, Camp SoZo even has a chapel area for services. Family Camping, Individual Camping, Large Group, Small Group or if you just want to be by yourself, Camp SoZo has all the space you need.
LODGING: If you are the woodsy type and are looking to "roughing it", Camp SoZo offers plenty of designated space for you to pop up your tent and lay on the land. Also offered are sites with Primitive and Semi-Primitive Camping, and Permanent Camping, that all have running water, kitchen areas and restrooms. There are Dorms that can sleep up to 70 people along with access to a shower house, and a 4 bedroom 1 bath house that can sleep up to 16 (8 bunk beds) for those that may just want to enjoy the beauty of the land with some added comfort.
